52 Week Ham Radio Challenge 2026 - Week 25: Participate in a contest/activity... in CW!

Challenge for 2026-06-15 - 2026-06-21

Category: 📻 - Difficulty: 🟠

Participate in a contest/activity... in CW!

Now this might be an easy challenge for operators fluent in CW, but if you never have worked CW it can be quite the challenge. Maybe it's the start of your CW career? Or just a fun excursion? How did you send your CW? Did you use a straight key, a paddle or a macro on your computer? There are lots of beginner contests and activities as well where operators accept slower speeds and their QSO partners needing a few more tries.

June 16, 2026 09:51 UTCDJ3CE@social.darc.de4Success!One of the very first CW activities I took part in on my cw journey, was the AGCW VHF/UHF contest (144/432 MHz, see https://www.agcw.de/contest/vhf-uhf/ ) and what I'd call 'summer edition' took place again last saturday. Throughout the last times my efforts for taking part grew a bit and this time I took the chance to also activate the #SOTA entity DM/HE-053, Neunkircher Höhe, and get some points for this years 2m SOTA-challenge. Given the luggage going by bike was not exactly the very best idea, but weather was nice and I had a fun time meeting well-known(*) ops in cw from the mountain top, especially given I know that one op has had his very first cw-qso with me. No computer, just a paper-log, IC-705, small Yagi (5/9 Elements) and a #BaMaTech TP-II paddle. And next time I'll bring earphones… :) Big thanks to all ops in this activity and the #AGCW for organizing! @hamchallenge #HC25S #hamchallenge #morsecode (*) well-known as in "have worked them in cw mni times before" :)
