This is something I should have done a long time ago already - especially since I have line of sight to the Olympiaturm in Munich, which hosts DB0TVM (picture shows the view from my flat). However, according to hamnetdb.net it is currently under renovation... https://hamnetdb.net/index.cgi?q=db0tvm - I will observe the status. Would be much nicer to access the hamnet via radio rather than some VPN... #hamradio #hamnet @hamchallenge |

OK, I don't know what I am doing, but it only took 5 minutes to get started on #hamnet with #wireguard thanks to https://vpn.hamnet.network/w/de/

| January 27, 2026 04:30 UTC | mischk@bunt.social | 4 | Success! | The nearest access point to Hamnet is only 1.6 km away as measured in a straight line, but i am on the second floor with many houses in between, so I am unable to establish a radio connection.
I connected to Hamnet via VPN and browsed around a bit. The web part seems a bit like the early Internet, with many private or club sites and broken links. I wish I could add a personal website, hosted on a Pi, to Hamnet. HC05S @hamchallenge #hamchallenge #amateurradio |
| January 28, 2026 19:52 UTC | DJ3CE@social.darc.de | 2 | Success! | Since I saw this years #hamchallenge s I was awaiting this week: From my QTH I have a good LOS to DB0FLX and had set up a Ubiquity device together with a Raspberry Pi for routing into the Hamnet from my local network some time ago.
For HC05S I looked at some tracroutes to see the involved links and used APRS, DX-cluster and MQTT via HAMNET(-Servers) and right now think about using MQTT as a chat…
